about my garden
Gardenalia is located in Robertson – The Green Heart of The Southern Highlands - on over an acre of land. Margaret and Roger Roberts established Gardenalia only 5 years ago. It is a very different and eclectic garden.
Gardenalia features containerised gardening, showcasing various plants and pots. Over 1200 pots all individually irrigated and integrated in the garden to look stylish and beautiful.
Margaret and Roger have loved and collected pots and statuary for over 40 years. Potted gardening is now the focal point and with gardeners having less time and space it’s a lovely way to have the garden you have always wanted.
Gardenalia was started 5 years ago and does have other points of interest.
Perennial borders, disease resistant Roses, Espaliered fruit trees, Peonies, Hostas, Epimediums, Trilliums, Frittalarias, 70 plus clematis, Hellebores (pots of “Annas Red”), Japanese garden, Bulbs (in the garden as well as pots), Composting orchard, Large vegetable garden, Chooks and Aviaries.
Margaret has been involved in horticulture all her life. Growing up in a market gardening and orchardist family sowed the seeds for a lifetime of dedication to horticulture.
Margaret established the first greenhouse rose farm in Western Australia in 1980 exporting to Asia and off season to Europe. Experience gained from her childhood and from her pioneering family in exporting carrots and onions to Asia. Her family were the first farmers to establish an extensive olive orchard in Western Australia, as well as growing passionfruit and other exotic fruits in the 1960s.
This experience is enhanced by the quality of horticultural practice in this small but interesting garden.
